But the advent of television enabled the insane and frivolous to gain influence instantly. Performers and village idiots became the role models for Joe Public - who will naturally mimic anything he sees. There begun the “trends”. Something that was “fashionable” one day became a laughing stock once the masses snapped out of their momentary stupour - and that is precisely what “fashion” has become. Every trend from the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond is the equivalent of a night on the sauce.

I’d disagree with one major premise of the article… The idea that Western art, music and even “fashion” peaked a century or so ago.
I’m a fan of nice Victorian suits and such, but as an artist (and considering the breathtaking artwork Kat produces), I find it offensive to think that art has peaked and is in decline. Thpht.

I would agree about art with you, though I would say that it’s progression has at times been slowed.
As for Dragon*Con, though I have not made any official announcements and am not sure of my exact plans i.e. times I will be there, room at the con, etc I will be there this year and expect to actually hang out with you kids.
