Welcome to the creepy cute world of KimoKawaii. Here you will find the home page of Joshua Normal, artist, programmer, amateur absinthe brewer, pirate, and all around modern scoundrel. Look around, enjoy my works, enjoy the strange things I find around the net, and most of all enjoy yourself.
Two people who sprinkled flour in a parking lot to mark a trail for their offbeat running club inadvertently caused a bioterrorism scare and now face a felony charge.
Foam swallowed an entire beach and half the nearby buildings, including the local lifeguards’ centre, in a freak display of nature at Yamba in New South Wales.
Scientists explain that the foam is created by impurities in the ocean,
such as salts, chemicals, dead plants, decomposed fish and excretions
from seaweed.
At first look it sounds like great fun. A whole beach covered in an enormous pile of foam. Then once you see what has caused it the whole thing seems a bit less fun. Of course since the whole ocean is sort of filled with all that anyway it really doesn’t matter. It would still be fun to see this in action.
I’ve been wanting to add some serious class to my DSlite ever since I got it. I tested out temporary tattoos, rub-on transfers to get the look I was going for. None of them looked good. So finally I decided I was going to silk screen it, or stencil it to get the right look. Finding a good stencil for the job was tricky. I wanted something very stylish. Finally last weekend while garage sale shopping I found what I was looking for. Very nice little brass stencils that were 50 cents each. This weekend I tested them out and decided that they were what I wanted. I then committed one of them to the cover of my DS. I have to say I am proud of how it turned out.
I wanted to find a brass colored paint in the fusion line, but the closest they had was nickel so I went for it. I still need to do some work to the inside and try to figure out some way to replace the buttons with ones that look like brass, but that will come eventually.
Essick was working on a new coffee-table picture book of disrobed women interacting with sea life in the Bahamas last week (October of last year) when his muses bumped into overly friendly reef sharks.
This falls into one of those moments where a really cool artistic idea could have ended very badly. It’s hard to see in the picture above, but that large white mass to the girls left is a shark that got caught in the fishnet the woman in the photo was wearing at the time. It got out on it’s own without hurting her. The other girl on the shoot had one of the sharks decide to get a taste of her foot. Luckily it let go and decided that she didn’t taste as good as he had hoped. Which is really amazing to me. I can say with some certainty that if a shark took hold of my foot I would not have stayed calm and slowly gone to the surface after it let go.
The photographer Todd Essick has the shots up on his website, as well as a lot of other very beautiful underwater shots on his site. essickphoto.com
I knew in my lifetime that I would never ever get another opportunity like that. I was old enough to know that. And of course I never did. It was the only chance we had to fly anything more than a Cub or a Cesna or a little sports airplane. We would never get back in the military. – Kaddy Steele, WASP 1942-1944
Marilyn Monroe may have worked putting planes together, but these women flew them. If these ladies had gotten to fly more do you think they could have gotten beefcake pinups painted on their planes?
Really, if you don’t have an answer making it up on the spot may not be the best choice. Especially not if you are part of the statistic you are being asked about in the first place.
Reeves committed over the weekend to play Klaatu, a humanoid alien who arrives on Earth accompanied by an indestructible, heavily armed robot and a warning to world leaders that their continued aggression will lead to annihilation by species watching from afar.
I’m going to try and stay positive about this one. Really, as positive as I can be. However, when the phrase, “advances in visual effects” is used in regards to this film I can only imagine bad things happening.
“He was out driving that electrical car right in the middle of Stockholm city,” Holmlund said. “The police thought it looked a bit strange, so they stopped him.” The officers noticed that Murray smelled of alcohol but he refused to take a breath test, citing US law - which has no bearing in Sweden.
Bill seems to have been channeling a bit of old Hunter in Stockholm Monday. Guess that’s what happens when you study a man so closely to be able to portray him on the screen. I can just envision the scene in my head. The Swedish police pull Murray over in his golf cart and he starts spouting off to them about how he is an American citizen and their heathen laws don’t apply to him. After a couple of swings at them with a club he found in the back of the cart the police finally wrestle him to the ground. As they load him into his car the crowd that has now gathered around over hear him muttering about forgetting to bring his attorney along this time.
Of course the best part of the story is that he actually stole the golf cart from the front of the hotel he was staying at. It was on display promoting the golf tournament in town.
Tournament head Fredrik Nilsmark said the vehicle was not intended for guests but added: “I don’t hold any grudge against Bill Murray for borrowing our cart for a while.”
Sometimes reality is as amusing as my imagination.
He earned the nickname The Vampire of Sacramento due to his drinking of his victims’ blood and his cannibalism. He did this as part of a delusion that he needed to prevent Nazis from turning his blood into powder via poison they had planted beneath his soap dish.
One hell of a list of crazies here. It’s an interesting read though just to see how frightening people can be.
The Cargo (LSGA) and cargo-passenger (LSGPA) aircraft have the capacity to carry 600 tons, or 11,000 people. Will these airships ever become commonplace in our skies again? Who knows. It’s a Russian startup with no actual real world information on their website. It could all be smoke and mirrors, but it could be the return of the dirigible.
